Welcome to the Kisses for Caius Newsletter
Hello everyone! The outpouring of support, sharing, and generosity within the week of launching our campaign is far and beyond our wildest dreams. We have gone through bouts of uncertainty, fear, and isolation one minute to joy, gratitude, and love the next with laughter and tears, hugs and kisses, and a real sense of the beauty in human spirit. For that, we wanted to add to the good and share a bit of what is becoming an unbelievable story of healing.
Navigating this space is so foreign to most of us. When was the last time you thought about your liver? When was the last time someone asked for a piece of it? When was the last time you thought you’d be asking someone for a piece of theirs to save your child? It’s all quite incredible. It stretches the imagination and puts us in touch with hearts and internal dialogue that is potentizing to the spirit within us.
Through this situation, we have come to learn there are many different ways of giving and coming together. Everyone has a gift in sharing.
Some have a calling to give of themselves—like really themselves—as donors.
Some are connectors. They have the gift of networking. They have been such giving people in their families and communities that their sharing our story touches people that give back in ways we never could.
Some offer financial support. These people know of the practical necessities of life and the uncertainties before us. While we are in the midst of a whirlwind, they are a compass to keep us on course for after the storm.
Some are the doers. No one asks them to reach out or to do something they have the time and talent to share. They just do it out of love and it is inspiring.
Some are the listeners. These people know you. They know the outcome you desire. And they listen carefully to make sure that you stay positive and hopeful through the ups and downs.
And finally, there are those who are all of these things and more. There are more of these than I thought possible, and through this process, we have seen people become a kaleidoscope of all of these positive aspects of human nature, shifting from one incredible mosaic of love to another as things change.
It is all quite humbling and inspiring. So here we are.
We have met with so many incredible people, we will not only share our story, but theirs. We want to give them a voice and a platform to shine and share, so others that have to face the tough and unusual questions above will have better answers and more ease in the days that temper them with grace.
We will also be sure to keep you up-to-date on Caius and how the process is going for him and for, what seems, our ever expanding families.
Thank you all for being here. For being a community of care, the highest virtue. May we all find purpose in these challenges that lead to the greatest good.
